Primary Use: Designing client presentation decks and drafting visual contracts

Purpose in Our Workflow:
Canva is a drag-and-drop design tool we use to create professional, on-brand visual assets quickly—without requiring design software like Adobe Illustrator. At Momenta Fire, Canva plays a focused but important role in the production of presentation materials and contract documents.

We maintain a single Canva team license, which includes access to premium templates, fonts, brand kits, and visual assets. It’s primarily used for non-public-facing content like proposal decks orpartnership contracts, rather than marketing materials published on their websites or social channels.

How We Use It in Context:

  • Presentation Decks:
Canva is our go-to tool for creating slide decks for client presentations, proposals, onboarding overviews, and marketing strategies. These decks need to be visually clear, consistent, and often customized with a client’s branding (colors, logo, industry visuals, etc.).
  • Marketing and Service Contracts:
We use Canva to draft branded service agreements and partnership proposals. These documents include key terms, service breakdowns, timelines, and scope. presented in a clean, easy-to-read format.
  • Internal or Client-Facing Templates:
Occasionally, we use Canva to build reusable templates that save time—like reporting cover pages, standard slide formats, or fillable documents.

Your Role With Canva:

  • Editing and Assembling Decks:
You may be asked to populate Canva presentations with copy from a Google Doc, adjust layouts to match a specific structure, or update an existing deck with new client branding.
  • Contract Visual Setup:
You’ll likely be responsible for duplicating a contract template, updating client-specific fields (name, deliverables, dates, pricing), and exporting the file as a shareable PDF. No legal writing is required—just clear formatting and detail accuracy.
  • Brand Consistency:
Canva allows us to use pre-set brand kits (logo, fonts, colors). When editing or creating from scratch, you’re expected to apply those kits to ensure visual consistency.
  • Proofing and File Export:
Before finalizing, double-check for alignment, typos, and export settings. Contracts and decks are typically saved as PDFs for delivery via email or client portals.

Quick Tips:

  • Always duplicate the original file before making edits to preserve the base template.
  • Use consistent font sizes and layout spacing across slides.
  • Stick to client branding unless you’ve been told to use ours.
  • Avoid using too many design elements—keep it clean, functional, and easy to read.
  • Label and save files clearly with client name + document type (e.g., acmecorp_q1strategydeck.pdf).

Canva gives us a fast, flexible way to build polished client-facing materials without needing a dedicated designer for each task. Used correctly, it reinforces our professionalism, keeps our visual communication clean, and helps us deliver documents that clients can easily digest and trust.
